The best technology doesn’t just do things for us—it empowers us to do things we never thought possible. It gives us the tools to create, to express, to connect. It amplifies who we are. THE MAVERICK

EMBRACE THE RADICAL. SUBVERT CONVENTION.

Deutsch embodies a unique zeitgeist that fuses Silicon Valley’s cutting-edge innovation with an artist’s creativity and a CEO’s execution. In his world, technology isn’t cold or impersonal—it’s the paintbrush for human expression.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

From an early age, Deutsch was defined by focus and determination in the pursuit of excellence. He was selected as the youngest member of the United States Junior National Rowing Team. He also earned gold-medal titles at the U.S. National Championships, the Head of the Charles Regatta, and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta—achievements that earned recognition in Sports Illustrated.

Rowing instilled in him a code of unwavering discipline and values he brings to every business endeavor: the ability to navigate complex challenges with focus and resilience.

There are no shortcuts. Success is a result of discipline, and hard work.
— Samuel J. Deutsch

At the University of California, Berkeley, Deutsch balanced intense athletic commitment with academic achievement. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in History and Business, earning membership in Phi Beta Kappa.

He earned the Highest Honors from the faculty of the history department, the number one ranked history program in the US by U.S. News & World Report, for his thesis “Was Franklin D. Roosevelt Indifferent to European Jewry During The Holocaust”.

Besides being a scholar, he captained the Varsity Crew team. During his rowing tenure at Cal, they won one national championship. And he received the Golden Bear Achievement Award as the team’s top academic scholar and First Team All Pacific Athletic Conference honors. He also served as President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. For him, excellence meant excelling both in the classroom and on the water, proving that rigor and creativity need not be opposites. This intense experience reinforced his belief that leadership is forged at the intersection of intellect and grit.

PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

Deutsch began his career in Real Estate & Lodging Investment Banking at Bank of America Securities, where he advised on landmark transactions including Blackstone’s privatizations of Equity Office Properties and Hilton Hotels. It was the latter transaction, in his work while covering the hospitality asset class that he fell in love with hotels, describing them as “a living, breathing piece of art,” which became his true calling.

Following his tenure in banking, he partnered with legendary hotelier Horst Schulze to found Capella Hotels & Resorts. Drawn to creation rather than just transactions, he served as Managing Director and Head of Development, helping establish one of the world’s premier luxury hotel brands. They redefined the luxury hospitality sector delivering not just exceptional service, but creating immersive experiences within their hotels to inspire and elevate the human experience. His unyielding commitment to innovation and efforts in creating these transformative properties (repositioning historical properties or developing irreplaceable raw land) serves as a testament to those who perceive potential where others only see obstacles.

Deutsch’s entrepreneurial journey spans industries—and in each one, he has aimed to redefine the game. His innate ability to visualize the world through a unique lens has translated seamlessly into his innovative approach to pushing the boundaries of what is possible; addressing “white spaces” with transformative brands, and challenging the status quo.

His fortitude and conviction to forge new paths creating groundbreaking, paradigm-shifting solutions is what sets Deutsch apart as a leader is how he builds bridges between worlds. His teams are ensembles of trailblazers—top Silicon Valley AI scientists working alongside creative minds from the fashion and art world. By bringing these disciplines together under a unifying vision, he creates an environment where breakthroughs happen naturally.

INNOVATION

THE CONVERGENCE OF ART AND TECHNOLOGY

As Founder and CEO of SAVANT, Deutsch leads a company at the forefront of AI and augmented reality in the luxury beauty sector. Collaborating with renowned computer vision scientists Gary Bradski, Anna Kogan, and Tatiana Khanova, he helped develop groundbreaking AI technology capable of tracking finger movements and joint articulations in real-time, even when obscured from view.

This revolutionary technology powers OUTOFHAND.ai, a luxury extended reality (XR) brand that delivers an immersive beauty experience through digital accessories. The platform seamlessly blends virtual exploration with tangible reality – allowing users to experience designs digitally before ordering them as custom-sized, 3D-printed luxury nails. This pioneering approach transforms self-expression by erasing the boundaries between digital enhancement and physical products.

PURPOSE AND IMPACT

For Deutsch success is measured not only by market impact, but by meaningful change. At the core of his ethos lies a commitment to uplifting others and shaping a better future. Every product is about empowering the user—giving people control over their self-expression, identity, and experiences in ways previously unimaginable.

His commitment to social impact is demonstrated through philanthropic work, including co-chairing the Aspen Snow Ball, which raised over $2.5 million for pediatric cancer research. A portion of SAVANT’s profits is dedicated to charitable causes, embedding social responsibility into the company’s mission.

Deutsch’s vision of leadership is deeply principled. He insists on innovation that is both responsible and radical, groundbreaking yet grounded in ethics. As industries transform, he stands at the forefront of change, guiding the development of AI and AR for the betterment of humanity, not just for profit.

INVENTING TOMORROW

Deutsch’s insatiable drive to turn dreams into reality is a beacon for aspiring innovators. Across disciplines—finance, hospitality, art, and technology—Deutsch has sought to connect worlds. His guiding philosophy is simple: progress comes not from disruption alone, but from purposeful innovation that empowers others. In Deutsch’s words, “the only true limit is imagination—and even that, with the right vision, is boundless.”

His contributions position him as a leading figure in shaping the future, and proving that with passion, perseverance, and a touch of audacity, the impossible becomes possible. A reminder that the most profound journeys often begin with a single step or stroke.
